Designed for beginners: no special maths knowledge is required. Younger learners use objects and drawings. Older beginners use the same ideas with symbols, tables and scale drawings.

You will learn to

  • Estimate first, calculate, then check your answer makes sense.
  • Find pattern rules and predict what comes next.
  • Describe shapes, angles, directions and positions.
  • Choose the right unit and tool and measure accurately.
  • Collect data, show it clearly and use it to make decisions.
  • Use maths to plan, test and improve something you make.

What you need
